I had my first night out since having the boys on Saturday night and I am just now STARTING to get back into the swing of things. Don't get me wrong I have gone to a couple of movies and dinner with my husband (which were nice) but Saturday night was my first night out with the girls. It was also the first time I participated in adult drinks (lots of them), dancing, and even a stripper (yuck). It was my girlfriend's stagette and we had a blast. The only problem when you are a mommy and you drink is that you are on duty the next day. It isn't your childrens fault that you were letting loose the night before and they don't get that you have a pounding headache. Was it worth it?...........heck yeah........will I do it again soon?........not on your life!
Good for you! Sounds like a very fun night. I had a few drinks (just with my husband) this weekend and when I woke up the next morning feeling just a bit off I thought "Wow, imagine if I had a really bad hangover! This would be impossible!" Kids sure do change things from the days of hangovers on the couch watching movies all day long!! :P
ReplyDeleteOh, I long for a day watching movies on the couch, they are totally worth it though. Maybe if I wasn't such an old bat I could bounce back faster.....lol
DeleteGood for you! I SUCK at making sure I get some me time and I think Mother's need it for their sanity. I need to make myself do it, even if it's just coffee at the bookstore for an hour. However a girls night out drinking sounds amazing! I'm definitely green with envy over here.
ReplyDeleteI do make time for myself, I don't know how people who don't take a break do it. I miss the boys but they are in good hands with their daddy!
DeleteGlad you finally got a night out!
ReplyDeleteSo funny! Yep, getting drunk is no longer that fun, is it. It might be fun that night, the next morning is KILLER!!! Glad you had fun though - you deserve it!
ReplyDeleteFor sure, I won't be doing that again soon!
